Divine Understanding

Divine Understanding

A Poem by Ashley

there is so much that i haven’t told you,

yet so little that you don’t know.

countless words unspoken,

yet my thoughts are realized through knowing glances.

you read my eyes, rather than my lips

and you know my most precious thoughts

before i have even had the courage

of thinking to utter them aloud.

i don’t question why we have this connection,

nor do i ask myself how it happened.

of course i know the technical answer.

but that is not where my interest is.

the divine mystery that lead us

to the most sacred of understandings

is that which i no longer seek to make sense of,

but wish to know

so that i may appreciate just how fortunate i am

to be blessed by your knowing of me.

This is a beautiful bond that only two people can truly understand.
The rest of us can marvel at it's light and go on into the rest of our
lives inspired by it. Excellent work.
