MissUnderstanding

A Poem by Ashley

i never could make sense of our first meeting.

your drunken kiss,

the boyish grin.

you were a man

with a completely incomplete life.

i was a girl

trying to begin a life completely my own.

you told me i understood you

she didn’t.

but in the end, i didn’t understand,

did i?

the only person that will ever understand the mess of you

is you.

but you don’t,

do you?
