Maybe if You Gave a Damn

Maybe if You Gave a Damn

A Poem by alienkid
"

A glimpse inside the mind of a frustrated teenager.

"

Maybe If You Gave a Damn

You think you can see inside me,

But all you see is a wall,

I don’t want you to find me,

I’m afraid you’ll make me fall,

You control the moves I make,

You’re the puppeteer,

But soon the strings are gonna break,

And I’ll run away from here,

You ask me what is wrong,

As if you really care,

The conversation won’t last long,

As I give you a cold stare,

Maybe if you cared a bit,

I’d let you in my mind,

I’d tell you all about it,

There’s a lot you’d find,

Why should I open up to you?

For you to turn away,

You don’t even have a clue,

Why I touched the blade.
