Art

Art

A Poem by Lexi Melton

You say it’s art.

More like a dart

Through desensitized skin

Where no one wins

And some convincing

To stop my wincing

At the profanity you label “art.”

You say it’s art.

More like a cart

Of poisoned food

You say is good.

You blind my eyes

With what you call wise.

At the pornography that you call “art.”

You say it’s art.

But I see pain.

Where boundaries wane

And we all go insane.

Where’s the line

Where we say it’s fine?

What’s the difference

Between a bra and a bikini?

Consent.
