If I Did ItA Poem by Alicia Huntley
If I did it, I would be selfish.
If I put a gun to my head It would be to blow up what drove Me crazy. If I put a gun to my heart It would be to shoot out The pain. If I was to cut with a knife It would be to bleed out The sorrow. If I was to use a rope and hang It would resemble all the lost breath From anxiety. If I was to jump It would be to feel free From fear. If I was to walk out and be hit It would be the last crushing impact To feel. If I was to drown It would be my last sink into The abyss. I am not selfish. I could not do it to my family, my friends. I cannot let anyone else suffer What I feel. So with a slipping grasp, I chose to suffer And pray that all this pain Will one day make me tougher. © 2014 Alicia HuntleyReviews
