Should I ForgetA Poem by Alicia Huntley
My body tingles.
Not in pleasure, but in hurt. Your eyes and heart avert. I feel cold. So very cold. I feel alone. Lies I should have known. My heart beats quickly, not in passion, but in anxiety and fear. How quickly you promised to be here. I shake. I shake violently. I cannot breath. Easily you chose to leave. It hard to not be afraid. Its hard not to be upset. Should I wish our memories to fade? Will happiness come when I forget?
