Choices

Choices

A Poem by alice.wright

Should I? hmm...
So easy,
(just a simple slice across ones neck).

Should I? hmm...
So quick,
(just a moment to drown in ones blood)

Yet it would be such
a waste.
No doubt,
others would thank me.
Applaud my selfless (yeah right)
actions.
The supposed crushing of my soul
for the needs of the many.
Testing the waters of the inhumane
to still the torrent of impending hate.

Others, though
would be thankless.
Condem my selfish (yeah right)
actions.
The supposed taking of ones life
for my own, twisted revenge.
Traversing tho canyons of evil
to still the torrent of impending hate.

Should I? hmm...
No,
I'll wait.
Take action by means of a more subtle hand.

This is good work... I liked the idea of the "dark" conversation with yourself... it's dark but has that hint of humour. Well done.

I really enjoyed this. Sometimes the best revenge is not to act upon it at all.
