Acid Rain

Acid Rain

A Poem by alice.wright
"

My musings on strained relationships.

"
Words fall like rain
and land,
bruising the face of the sun and the moon.
An eternal dance,
choreographed by the need to forever be acknowledged as right.

Eclipses.
Partial, total.
Lunar, solar.
Insignificant in the grand scheme of things
yet they hurt.
Leave scars.
Traces  of words (now forgotten)
whose meanings carry the full unbridled
pain
that one wishes upon the other.

Love is strong, yet it bends,
buckles,
breaks.
Under the lashings of acid rain that fall
and land,
drop by drop.

How it hurts.

Wow. This is a beautiful use of words and imagery.

It amazes me how many people find themselves in these situations in their relationships, and how they welcome and reciprocate those hurtful actions just, as you say, to be acknowledged as right. You expressed that very elegantly. :)
