Sandman's DrugA Poem by alice.wrightJust a short memory/experience poem.
I'm a meadow full of butterflies,
a shipwreck on a deserted cove with rope that's twisted, broken and frayed. I'm a cornered rat not yet showing fight, frightened of what lays behind the door to the tomb, sterile and white. From weapons small and sharp I cringe from the Sandman's drug that brings faux death, a numbing, robbing, stealing of life.
