This poem takes on new meaning when you read it's title again. You have a beautiful poetic way of putting how you feel.
As humans we have an obsession with looking, no, staring, at things that never change, like the moon, the stars or a photograph, the eyes are diffidently one of these type of things. Logically thinking, a glance is all that you should need, but as they say, "A picture speaks a thousand words," so I guess we stare to see, Everything. Great title!
Sorry for the late comment. I don't know how I missed it.

"We are more than nothing." I like this line. I could be wrong but I feel it can have a sort of double meaning under. I like short quick poems like these that make the reader think. Quite the enjoyable read.
Very well written piece again, there's this haziness about it like reading through a fog, def a ghosty feel you created with your words. I think the structure of your last line is pretty smart, it immediately led me back to the title.

Some people can do that for us...the empty shell fills with things you didn't know you wanted or needed. The remnants of 'before' can then melt away. Gorgeous expressive piece. Mauri ora...feel better. Ray xo

Does this one end with the title, as opposed to beginning with it? I'm interested as hell, hoping that I come at least close to what you thought when putting it together, Alice. :)

If I have to be completely honest with you, this piece started nagging at my brain when a friend asked me: "What is more than nothing, but less than something?" I had a completely different answer at the tip of my tongue - which resulted in this. The answer to the "riddle" is 'anything'.
The answer to your question is a sigh, which might sound completely weird, but sometimes I tend to speak out my stuff as I write them, and I couldn't find an appropriate word for a sigh, because it drifts off into infinity, becoming a part of everything, or disappears into oblivion, into nothingness. So I dare say you were very close, Sante. Everything and nothing are both suitable words. I have quite an obsession with antonyms.
Maybe I should start posting spoken versions of my stuff too. I swear they would be about 50% better :). Thank you very much for your thoughts! Always a pleasure.

That's a pretty stroke-of-genius kind of response to the question "What is more than nothing, but less than something?" I don't know too many who may have responded with "Anything."
As for spoken versions, I'd personally take that on in full; I'm sure they'd be something sweet! My pleasure, Alice. :)
Superbly written. So brief, so fleeting, is the amount of time it takes someone to make us feel more than the sum of our parts, where before we were mere shadows of the intensity that someone can make us feel. Love it :)

There's definitely something old but something pretty new; something borrowed and something very, very blue.
