Blue SinsA Poem by Alice PoésyHeartbreak Records #2And the world keeps preaching that love is the cure - but he's got enough love for two men and he still pops those pills like hard mints. The smoke from my cigarette coils up in his eyes like filmed ghosts stuck to his lenses, his head resting in my lap; the silver light between curtains lying in lace patterns across his face. And I trace his features in the dim-lit room trying to imprint his face in my mind's heart as I whisper, Love, tell me what's on your mind, my fingers falling into the waves of his hair as he rambles on about the fable of a red man with horns and I smile, until he says: Not even God forgave his favourite angel. And my heart sinks to the bottom of the Atlantic. The flames in the room burning so hot that it turned everything blue.
