I STILL LOVE HIM

I STILL LOVE HIM

A Poem by Alice Morrison
"

A little girl doesn't know any better than to keep loving her father.

"

I STILL LOVE HIM

Why is daddy crazy?

Was it something I did?

If it was, I'm sorry

I didn't mean to, I promise

He hurts me every day and I don't know why

I think he hurts mommy, too

When she brushes my hair, I see scars on her arms

Why does he hurt us mommy?

Doesn't he love us?

He has to, he's my daddy

One night, I ask him if he loves me

He smiled at me

Mommy started yelling at him to get away from me

“Of course I do, sweetheart” daddy said

“Really?” I ask, just to be sure

“Here, I'll prove it to you” daddy said

That's when daddy grabbed a knife

Mommy started screaming, but daddy ignored her

Daddy started cutting my arm and I screamed

It hurt really bad

“Daddy stop!” I cried

I started to feel kinda sleepy

I looked at my arm to see what he had done

Daddy cut the word “LOVE” into my arm

I fell backwards onto the floor

Mommy was screaming and crying now

Maybe daddy did love me

Maybe he didn't

All I know is, my last thought before I fell asleep

Was that I loved him

I had to

He was my daddy

About
Hey guys. I love to write (obviously). My favorite things to write are short, horror stories because I was raised on horror and grew to love the genre, although I will sometimes write fantasy, romance.. more..
