VERMIN

A Poem by Alice Morrison

Ignoring a problem isn't always the best solution.

VERMIN

Oh god, I wish I had called the exterminator

Started with one rat in my house

Scratching the walls and running about

Into the basement, I kicked him down

And never gave him another thought

I wish I had killed him, I really do

Because now the floor of my basement moves

There's 10, 100, maybe more

Scuttling around my basement floor

Where they came from, I'll never know

Because, now, tonight, they're nibbling on my toes

About
Hey guys. I love to write (obviously). My favorite things to write are short, horror stories because I was raised on horror and grew to love the genre, although I will sometimes write fantasy, romance.. more..
