Chapter 3

A Chapter by Protect Me Demons That Come At Night
"

Sorry, no blood torture in this one. Leaving that for the next chapter :D

"

“Alice,” Miss Whit called from her desk. “Mr. Deer would like to talk to you now.”

I stood up and felt fear run through my body. I walked slowly to the principal’s office. The door was open and I saw Mr. Deer sitting at his desk typing at his computer.

I stood there until he looked up at me and said, “ah, Alice. Sit down.” He gestured to one of the stiff brown chairs across from his desk. I hesitated before sitting on the uncomfortable chair.

“Now, Alice,” he said. “Tell me why you’re here.”

“I’m here because I punched Michelangelo,” I admitted guiltily.

“And why on earth would you punch Michelangelo?” he asked me.

“He made fun of my brother,” I said. “He said my brother was the a word.”

Mr. Deer sighed. “Alice, you can’t hurt people?”

“Even if they hurt you?” I asked.

He nodded. “When someone hurts you, you come to me or Mr. Lees. Okay, Alice?”

  I nodded.

“Now I’m afraid I have to inform your parents about this and suspend you from school for two weeks,” he told me.

  I gasped. I couldn’t get suspended!!

“But-“ I began to protest but Mr. Deer interrupted me by saying, “please wait outside when I call them.”

I pouted and then walked out of his office and sat on the bench beside Ralph Meccoy. He had his headphones on, plugged into a Walkman.

He looked at me and pressed a button on his Walkman then said, “hey. You’re that Alice chick. You’re related to Aaron right?”

I nodded. He grinned. “That dude is awesome at hockey,” he said. I looked at him blankly.

“So,” he said. “What kind of music are you into?”

  “Huh?” I asked.

He looked at me as if I was stupid. “Music. You know. Marilyn Manson, Madonna, The Beatles…stuff like that,” he said.

“I don’t know what that is,” I said stupidly.

He gasped and then took his headphones off of his head and put them on mine. “You will love this,” he told me.

He pressed a couple buttons on the Walkman.

I heard the sound of applause and cheers come from the headphones. I looked at him with a confused look on my face and he grinned.

“Tokyo, good evening,” a deep voice announced from the headphones. “Please welcome from Hollywood, California; the queens of noise; The Runaways!!”

The applause and cheers and screaming got louder and I still had no idea what was going on.

  Then I heard drums. I heard a loud guitar squeal. And I heard a girl shout;

“With a pinch of rock and a dose of roll

I can warm you up if you get too cold

I can bring you up when you’re going down

I can smash your head all over this town

  You gave me the answer.

Now I got the answer, oh yeah.”

Then the door to the office burst open. I jumped and threw the headphones off of my head and looked to see who was at the door.

It was my dad. Staring at me, like I was a piece of s**t.

“Can I help you?” Miss Whit asked him. He broke his gaze from me and walked over to the desk.

“Is that your dad?” Ralph whispered. I nodded.

  “Damn,” he said.

  “What was that?” I asked.

He grinned. “That was The Runaways,” he told me.

  “That was beautiful,” I whispered.

“Talk to me if you want more,” he told me. I nodded my head in agreement.

“Alice,” my dad said stiffly. “We’re going now.”

I gave Ralph one more look before my dad grabbed my arm and dragged me away from the office.

“What about my bag?” I asked him as he opened the heavy door of the school.

“Shut up, b***h,” he growled. He tightened his grip on my arm and I winced.

We started walking away from the school. “Where’s the car?” I asked.

“A block away, f*****g princess,” he growled.

His grip got tighter and I knew something bad was going to happen.

Then I saw the car. It was parked in an alley.

“Why is the car in the-“

“You’ll find out!” he nearly yelled.

We walked up to the car and he opened the trunk. I stared at him blankly. “What’s going in there?” I asked.

  He grinned. “You are.”

Before I could do anything he grabbed my arms roughly and threw me in the trunk. I started screaming and he shut the trunk.

I heard his door open and the car start.

I continued screaming and hollering. He didn’t help me or even tell me to shut up. He just kept driving.

  Then I thought of something.

  And I began to holler,

“With a pinch of rock and a dose of roll

I can warm you up if you get too cold

I can bring you up when you’re going down

I can smash your head all over this town!”

I felt the car come to a screeching halt. I heard the car door open and footsteps approach the trunk.

The trunk opened and my dad picked me up and let me out.

“Get into the backseat,” he ordered me as he shut the trunk.

This was dark and twisted. What a nightmare.
It feels like watching a child raise a child as
the younger brother is protected.
