A Love UnbrokenA Poem by Alice AriesThis is another sonnet; this time less personal but still adhering to the traditional style and form. From her bed she watches moonlight slither through cracks she cannot close; and neither drink nor song nor prose will mend the heart, so let it wither.
Let it fall as dust on winds uncertain; sink to the ground to be with he. But God will never hear her plea, for faith has been forgotten.
His kiss, as fresh as memories born haunts forever on her neck. So softly, she may spin and check in sleepless hope of his return.
Bound is she to weep her vows unspoken, lost in the hourglass of a love unbroken. © 2013 Alice AriesReviews
