From East to West, I love youA Poem by Alice AriesThis is the product of an assignment I was set in class. As part of a collection, we have to include a poem about our favourite place, object or person. This is mine.In the chestnut shadow of slow-blinking eyes, I bask in the glow of my heart’s blissful state. Let my spine untwist as fear and loathing dies, and smile as I kindly remember my fate.
Morning drifts from on East and wakes me from dream to gaze on your face still tender with rest. So gentle the kiss to set my heart agleam, we entwine our souls till day fades to West.
A Summer’s day could do you no honour, for in the souls depths no daylight brings a love so pure; without chains or armour. This fortune shared would rival Lords and Kings.
So take my hand as wings unfold, glide as one through the rapture of life untold. © 2013 Alice AriesReviews
