A Chapter by Ali

Mr. Johnston must be the craziest man on Earth.  He wants his journalism class to do a report on an active serial killer.  All eleven students thought it was a joke at first.  When he handed out the sheets of paper for further information, they knew he was serious.  Each and every one of them could not speak their own mind because they were all in shock.  The toughest guy in class, Vincent, told everyone to meet after school, so they could figure out what to do.

Everyone gathered and just stared at each other for the first ten minutes.

“Alright…Our teacher obviously has gone crazy, if he thinks we will chase after a murderer,” Nellie said.

“It cost for forty percent of our grade though!” Tyson shouted, “I need to pass this damn class!”

“You’d risk your life for passing a class?” Nellie shouted at him.

“Mr. Johnston must know we will be safe, since he could get fired, right?  He couldn’t put us in harm’s way, right?” Felix added.

“Listen up!” Vincent stood on a desk, “Let’s just get this thing done with, okay?  The school would never let Mr. Johnston give this assignment, if they knew it was a risk to our safety.  That would mean big problems for them.  So…let’s get a few people on the computers for today to see what the media has already found out,” He jumped down.

Vincent was completely wrong.  When the students got further into the project, they almost discovered who the murderer really was.  That caused them to get so excited, they kept going.  That was their first mistake.

Unknown to them, the serial killer knew about their project and that they were trying to discover him out.
