Two sides

Two sides

A Poem by Alisia

You think you know her

But you don’t

You know what she lets you know

Not what happens behind closed doors

She’s not as easy as she let off

You see this girl who knows she’s pretty

But when she really looks at herself

She doesn’t see that at all

She sees the opposite

You see someone who knows what she wants

But when she’s alone

She doesn’t know what she’s doing in life

You see this simple girl

But if only you knew how complex she is

You look into her pretty eyes

But you don’t know how many times

Those pretty, brown eyes have cried

You see her big smile that can brighten up anyone’s day

Except her own

Because behind closed doors

She frowns

The outgoing girl you see

Is quite behind the scenes

She can act all happy

To disguise the pain she’s in

She can put on a show

So, no one knows the truth

But once the curtain closes on the day

She goes where no one sees

And sees the real her

Not what she colors herself

For other people

But what she colors for herself

This poor girl. Her pain is masked, I love the way you converted this sadness into a poem. Wonderful. ~Correspondence

A pain that's hiding just behind us and being concealed with a fake smile or the happy face everyone wanna see is beyond painful to the one who's going through it....Amazingly you expressed that!
Great read...thanks for sharing☺
