Back to Black

Back to Black

A Poem by Oliver C.
"

A short poem about somebody I used to love & their push-and-pull attitude,

"

I’ve felt myself die a million times for you,

The love I presumed we shared was untrue.

I felt my heart crumble as it fell to the floor,

Watching you walk right out of the door.

The feelings I felt for you faded slowly

As I fell and let you out of my life, taking a knee.
As I healed and became better,

All you wanted was for me to be wetter

“Drunk or high”,

What a f*****g guy.
We said goodbye with no words,

As I inflicted my curse, watching you tumble backward.

Now you’re back, my feelings growing once more,
But it’ll only run me poor.
Back to black, unfortunate as it is

My only true wish
