Trying to Fly to NeverlandA Poem by Alex ZynderShe was Wendy when I was with her My pixie dust was just a golden glitter- But we climbed upon my shed With it dumped upon my head Her blue eyes, on a blue sky My arms stretched out, ready to fly I heard her yell, as I fell, It sounded like, “Tinker bell!” And as I thought upon the ground, How, now, can she believes
in fairies? My head began to pound- Turning redder than
strawberries
Then in her gown, She floated down! And met my frown- with a bell-like tone, “You know, if Peter had never made a wish he never would’ve flown.” I bit my lip. Considered this, Had I forgot to make a wish? I felt my hand taken by hers I felt my cheek taking a kiss. I saw her tilt her head and sigh, "You should always make a wish, before you try to fly.” As she says this, I think my wish. Though I know- I’m no Peter Pan, I want to be, with my Wendy, Trying to fly to Neverland. © 2011 Alex ZynderReviews
