A Forgotten StoryA Poem by Alex ZynderThe beginning's in her left pocket The middle's in her right The end's a Jay, perched on her shoulder Fluttering quick and light 'til her arm starts to burn and her head starts to turn Only to watch the bird take flight Will she kill the hero? How then will the story end? The paper is loose at the binding the ink leaks from her pen Will her words be lost, in pain, exhaust with the passing of the era? runny, black drops stain the page from ink and wet mascara When the papers crinkle, like fallen leaves And are neglected through the ages Will you let the story breath? Please, just flip through her pages
