Summer Swing

Summer Swing

A Poem by Alex Zynder

I'm a chair without legs
Just two long iron chains
waiting for the day to end

will you not come outside?
will you not hang with me?
Gaze at the sunset again

I miss you in the winter
when snow covers my body

I miss you in the spring
when the rain showers come

but during the summer
we resume our rocking

back and forth
back and forth

in the warm evening sun

Great poem! I like the unique point of view, the changing seasons, and the imagery in general!

So, so pretty! You've completely nailed the imagery in this one. I can close my eyes and feel the warmth of the sun and the gentle rocking of the swing...wow.

Aw, that was a beautiful metaphor, so eloquent.
