You are (my religion)
A Poem by Alex Thurley-Ratcliff
This seemed so obvious, a cliche, a common place idea... I am surprised I cannot find the words of the title (or similar) in the eg John Donne etc. But I wanted to play with it anyway, so here goes... !["](https://www.writerscafe.org/images/quote_end.png)
You are (my religion)
you are my faith, one and true
my devotional, confessional, processional I fool
myself, a believer, kneel to kiss
supplication suffering this, his
triptych arms flung wide
encase me warm and beating
next a semi-sacred heart
with a brushed-down breathing kiss
there's a glory and a splendour
in "blaspheming us"
our sin unites to re-present
a holy outstretched touch
so touch me and we'll love
we'll grow and re-create
our vision to expand
in flaming unity.

OK. So this is a bit more "out there" but try it out for size - and please leave your thoughts - good, bad or indifferent :-)
