The Long Dark Road

The Long Dark Road

A Poem by Alex Lewis
"

This is about a man that was walking and ended up on a different path trying to take a short cut. He will lead himself into a place I doesn't want to go,however, his choices brought him there.

"
Once upon a gloomy night, the feeling over come of fright, the luminescence gave no light, I walk down a dark road, the road, lacking clear destination as I look far confused, the map I read put forth no clues, destination I seek to find, the bleak, and dark road, some how sublime, the road ahead was dark, and the thoughts in my head were stark, but this road sayeth nothing to my burning ember of wonder

"How lost may I be!" I implore, I never been so lost before. I had just been walking in the city of fun. On a walk I go in the day, to get closer to the sun. The darkness sent an everlasting chilling down my spine, thy never seen such a dark day such as thine, my knees buckle and recline, my soul burning as of a demon taketh me over. "For it is just a dark road that scare me the most?" I said, "What being must this be? " I feel deep in chest?"

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear the evil of thy last breath. "God please!" I said "What shall I do!?" I walk down the road, deeper and deeper, my heart racing as if the devil replacing, his soul with my soul battling on this road, not one car go by on this road, not one traffic sign my eyes told, but the darkness inflict on a soul once cold. Now my soul, once cold, beg for thy forgiveness. Not ready for the judging of thy savior to be given.

A rustling I heard, my ears trick me up surd, my heart need thy repair, thy living nightmare, made into reality, "I don’t understand how this dark road come to be!" "Never shall I ever walk down thy road anxiously." Not knowing were I go.

The rustling I hear, but no trick this may be! A crow fly out of the sky from no seen place, No glide, nor a stride I seen, the crow fly from the sky down to the road, the crow stared at me with a stare of hurt, as if this crow hide my everlasting agony in his eyes, I burn, my hearts core return, my body ache and my soul hunger for revival, I stand seized upon by this crow whom came from nowhere

This evil beast had cast a spell ones never seen before, tis just a crow, I thought, a crow that come through the nor, the bird looked at me and I looked back, suddenly there came a pack, a tingling, run down my back as this pack of crows come as of a storm, they squawk as they were angry, but what I did was nothing more.

I run away from the pack of crows, my clothes paint to black and bold, I run to the end of this gloomy road, and somehow the road came to a close, and the sign displayed at the end told, the once never-ending rode ended, and my mind reload and pended, and only one crow remaining, out of the many crows chasing, stood behind me. The sign gave confusion, and hoping of an illusion, the sign clearly reading "Can't turn back now!"

The sign I don’t understand, "What does this sign demand?" I turn around to the crow at hand and look at this crow, the crow, calmly fly's away, I'm thankful for my ending pain, and suddenly the road, inflamed, with fire as is so to say, I don’t know what to think.

The crow, fly back to me, and fire cover the rode, the crow turn into a man I once wronged, and now everything comes to show, "welcome to your life," he said "I'm the man you once wronged," I remember whom this man may be, but I choose not to sing his song, you wrong a man and you run away, never to say sorry, your heart cold, and though bold until you reached the end of the road.
