Dom Lalek

A Poem by Alexis Caitlin King

Can you tell me, where does this emptiness come? My brains are haywire
and broken, yet more alive and willing than ever before. Conflict is
dusting the horizon, and this universe is a little too crowded. Keep me
cool and useless, I’ll be here forevermore. And that raven black as
moonless night crying, ‘Nevermore.’ My heart has broken times countless
before and life is charming me back to recognizance. Always seeing once
before believing, a life can change so simply. Love me dearly; I’ll keep
you needing all my heart evermore. These dreams are dark and gloomy,
and still my head is spinning. Twilight has kept my eyes snapped open, I
cannot forget this worldly token… calling me forth to claim this life
and nothing more. Foggy eyes are my own forte and lovely bones strewn
are on display. You’ve kept me close to your own disaster, bleak and
vast upon the ocean’s core. I’d love you dearly, but you’ll only hurt
me, forevermore.
