Phonoaesthetics

A Story by Alexis Caitlin King

I’ve never been more content in my life. He called me a goddess and I knew he was right. The stars were dull that night, dimmed by the yellow-orange tones of the moon. The ISS slowly streaked through the sky, luminescent and beautiful. Nothing ever seemed so true. Truer than this. But the universe kept going. The future, it was something to look forward to. Nothing ever quite felt this wonderful. Music ebbed and created harmony that flowed through my veins, slow and rhythmic. I felt better than ever.  Chip this flesh off my hands and make me light. He told me I was a goddess, and I believed every word he said.

Cellar door.

Your words are melodic.
