Star Fall

Star Fall

A Poem by Alexi DiMara

What would it be like if today was your last day?
If you knew this was your last song to play?
Would you hide in the wings with your tears and regrets?
Or would you stand in front of the crowd and pretend to forget?
Would you laugh at the joy or cry in the sorrow?
Would you build up a wall or still hope for tomorrow?
Would you be who you are or who you always wanted to be?
Would you hide it in pride or would you let them all see?
What would you say?... How could you say it?
Do you hurt them with your pain, or simply delay it?
How can you love if there are no days to follow?
How can you not, if you’ve got no tomorrow?
And what of the children? The parents? The friends?
How can you help them live on when you end?
A falling star has just one wish.
The question is, which?

A fluid style with a harmonious link between your words- they fall like music, and this is characterized by a strong voice with alluring imagery. Very intriguing. And the style between this and the poem 'Footprint' are a strong contrast.
