Cracked

Cracked

A Poem by Alexia Rose

She was a crippled woman
But only her mind and heart were cracked
Drowning in a pool of agony
Bound by walls of regret and pain
She was deceived by lies possessed by the snake's tongue
She gives way to the mask
Which casts a cloak over her raw identity
Forged words spill from her lips
Where innocence once spoke
The sensitive touch of joy is now replaced by nothing
More than a silent whisper
A song of comfort that soothed her sorrow
Was now lost for she was left alone...

Stranded in a nonexistent dream

Absolutely beautiful, I love all of your use of figurative language. I hope you make more stuff like this!

I always enjoy reading your poetry, Alexia. It forces the reader to understand the sadness and misery. You are so talented with words. Keep writing.

Beautiful and raw. Love the line 'the sensitive touch of joy is now replaced by nothing more than a silent whisper' I think nothingness can be even worse than pain.

So full of raw emotion. "Bound by walls of regret and pain" - I loved this line as I found it possessed so much meaning and relevance in so few words. Look after yourself and don't stop writing. It can allow you to let out so much pain...
