You Say Too Much

You Say Too Much

A Poem by Exa Lectric
"

I wrote this for a language arts project at school. it's reflects the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.

"

You say the trees are

silent,

You say I am not a

tree,

You say I need to

speak.

I think the trees are not

silent,

I think you need to listen

harder,

I think I decide when I will

speak.

You say it's

impossible,

You say I'm

insane,

You say i am

wrong.

I think they whisper through the

wind,

I think i am more sane than

you,

I think I am

correct.

You yell and scream

if you don't get

your way,

I stay silent

and nod my

head.

thanks! It is about a girl who has some things happen to her and then everyone hates her and she stops talking.
