A very clearly worded, sparely written effort here. The dreamlike quality of life has often been noted, both in literature and philosophy, possibly most notably by the man who was called the Buddha, who, when asked who he was, said simply, "I am awake." I believe the poet is speaking similarly here, when she says, "Every day,/ we are closer to being free." Of course, we must make freedom a priority, but the sense that humanity is steadily, if gradually, awakening, is a hopeful note. Liked this one very much.
