Running Down SouthA Poem by L.A.BernalNorth is too perfect and precise Where mankind strives and tries to reach yet no being ever conquers North is too clear and unclear all at once Is rational and frightening It's obvious and condescending South is stubborn, messy, foolish and unforgiving East is a choice, a detour, a deviation, an unknown road that may lead to nowhere but to an undiscovered ocean of nothingness mixed with everything West poses yet another question, west is no longer a choice but a last resort, a road full of hope because every other way failed, and when west reaches its inevitable end point of becoming a desert where nothing will ever be found, not even a way out You'll have no choice but to run down south, where you'll fall into the same puddles and traps, and laugh over the same jokes and scenes Where no insomnia of uncertainty will haunt you again, but an infinite boredom of madness Expecting to find a different road, a slight detour, a hole in the ground, a new way to anywhere else but this well known yet unfamiliar place Running down south. © 2014 L.A.BernalReviews
