Cancer doesn’t care
how old or young you are,
if you have kids,
what plans you had BEFORE
everything changed
because how could it not
as soon as you heard the words
you
have
cancer.

Cancer doesn’t care
what job you have or
how much money you make or
the fact that only a
few weeks ago you were normal
doing normal things and
now normal feels really
far away and you still
can’t quite believe this
is happening to you.

Cancer doesn’t care
that you cry yourself
to sleep or wake up in
the middle of the night
worrying that you’ll never
be yourself again and you
can’t stand that it’s taking
so much from you but you
can’t stand the thought of it
doing the same thing to those you love.

Cancer doesn’t care
about

this
but
I
do.
