The Race to Eternity

The Race to Eternity

A Poem by Annette Lemma
"

Just because it's NASCAR Weekend

"

At the start of the race
we soared around the corners
of virtual infinity

Like engines aflame
our hearts blazed
with intensity and expectation
of the next bend

After the unexpected last lap
our paths parted
And we aimlessly
found the way to ourselves

...timeless travel...
a moment like a year
a year like a second

Now we have merged again in the
direction of each other

This time a slow, cautious route
sets the pace for a journey
that will lead us through eternity
