THE WATER AND THE FIREA Poem by Mitzi EroritaA poem on unrequited love
THE WATER AND THE FIRE
The water loved the fire, And the fire loved the water, But like any other unrequited love They can never be together. For the water can't touch the fire, And the fire can't touch the water, And no matter how much they try They'd end up hurting each other. The fire watched the water from a far To touch or not, his heart's ajar The water wondered if the fire still cared, For the fire never talked again, No, it never dared. Memories of what, fire's touch did before To water and to his life He promised and swore To never see water get hurt once again, Caused by fire, he should never see another vapor in the air. But the water loved the fire so much that it started to reach The fiery flames of the fire that used to burn the witch. Slowly, little by little, life started to teach A life long lesson that the water should preach. A hint of smile from fire's lips, A drop of tear on water's cheeks. What others know as a tragic fate. To water and fire's heart, that love could've been great. © 2015 Mitzi EroritaReviews
