Sad Words

Sad Words

A Poem by Verina Blanche

Sad words painting a sad picture

They filter through my brain

as I read.

Why do I put myself through this?

I have enough pain in my own life

I don't need to read about

Other people's pain.

But I can't stop myself

It doesn't make me feel better.

It doesn't make me feel worse.

I just can't stop reading

every verse

that is written.

yes, this is something....to read about other people's pain makes me paralyzed. I would like to help. Like..making the knowledge unknow. The brains should forget...

you picked up this thought and you did a great job.

I know what you are saying, but it's not enough. This should be bigger, tell us more, say how you feel, go deeper. Add some original images beyond the ordinary. Avoid asking questions, make statements that convey your feelings. Say it in some new and different way.

The emotion is there, maybe so strong it overwhelms. Take time to think how it effects you. Find what in your life might motivate this action in you and then express it in some unique way. ask yourself "What is it that makes me want to read these verses?"

Sorry if this sounds like a downer, but I try to help.
