![]() His mother's eyesA Poem by Verina Blanche![]() I wrote this from the perspective of a character of one of my favorite books. It shouldn't be too hard to guess what it's from.![]() I'm dying The man with no compassion has taken away my life. Just another death in his path for power.
I have failed. I was supposed to tell teh boy everything, but no one knows I'm here. No one knows my true intentions.
No one knows that I kept him safe all this time for her.
As I fall to the cold floor I imagine I see the boy walk into the room. But I'm not imagining He is standing before me. I must let him know the truth...for her.
I do the best I can, transferring my memories to him. Now he will understand.
And I sit here dying in front of the boy who hates me. I can say that the feeling is mutual. I only protected him Because he is the son of the one I love The one with the beautiful green eyes.
And now I'm crying because I'll never see those eyes again. But I must get one last look. "look at me" I say to the boy with his mother's eyes. © 2008 Verina BlancheAuthor's Note
