His mother's eyesA Poem by Verina BlancheI wrote this from the perspective of a character of one of my favorite books. It shouldn't be too hard to guess what it's from.I'm dying The man with no compassion has taken away my life. Just another death in his path for power.
I have failed. I was supposed to tell teh boy everything, but no one knows I'm here. No one knows my true intentions.
No one knows that I kept him safe all this time for her.
As I fall to the cold floor I imagine I see the boy walk into the room. But I'm not imagining He is standing before me. I must let him know the truth...for her.
I do the best I can, transferring my memories to him. Now he will understand.
And I sit here dying in front of the boy who hates me. I can say that the feeling is mutual. I only protected him Because he is the son of the one I love The one with the beautiful green eyes.
And now I'm crying because I'll never see those eyes again. But I must get one last look. "look at me" I say to the boy with his mother's eyes. © 2008 Verina BlancheAuthor's Note
