One shot

I could give up, but, really don’t want to

Life is too beautiful in its ups and downs to snap and give up

Hope is too heartrendingly wonderful to not have

I know where I faltered and I know I will again someday, somehow

And I get hurt every day

But, I am happy too and I don’t want to give that away

I don’t want to ask why it hurts when it does

I want to live in the now and hope for the best

Naive, you might call me and you would be right

But, trust me I want to hold on to that tight

Life is wonderful, even when its not

I might be a coward to not let go, but, I hear I got only one shot…
