Solar Advent

Solar Advent

A Poem by Jason Henry
"

im still tryin to regain my licence...in the meanwhile, an unreleased one...

"

That morning sun made vapour visible.

And there is no emulsion quite as pungent to the eyes.

Dew, rain and soil.

It makes the earth yearn for more.

It casts a penumbra on an otherwise

Blank earth.

Else, a filter over mine eyes.

Revealing an inconvenient truth:

There is nothing more you need to be happy.

The earth, a new fertile existence.

Rejuvenation came with an amber sunrise.

To incinerate the death of seasons.

This precious fog is the cause to rejoice!

But silence has its niche on this perfect morning.

God adjusts the white balance, the exposure

But keeps the dimensions the same.

When this mystical mist disappears

And I resume my life of falsehood,

Happily attaining what I do not need.

He resets the balance;

Trying to remind me.

The whole concept of happiness is beyond me. I have moments of glee interspersed with periods of contentment and utter despair. What I need to be happy (in the moment) could be anything from a Pixie Stick to a long weekend alone. It is the contentment that I seek to acquire and maintain.

This piece is excellent; intelligent and quite profound.

This blew me away:

God adjusts the white balance, the exposure

But keeps the dimensions the same.

And the final stanza as a whole is really brilliant. Made me lean back in my chair and say "Damn!" :-)

Happiness is knowing where happiness comes from. All of our lives are those of falsehood, the
doctrine that evil overbalances happiness in life. But there is a God and not the one who
twists the meaning of our own perverted happenings but one who "resets the balance" reminds
us that everything that appears before us, whether in illusion of depth and distance, he has
persuaded.

fabulous write sir.

that's a fantastic interpretation. thank you.
Words like these should be read whilst wearing a toga. Your talent is clearly no joke. And it definitely cannot remain silent. My only wish is that u write more often and be read just as much!

It's hard to argue when He resets the balance . . . this is a stunning scene you've drawn. It's a shame that I wandered on it unread.
