ScoutmasterA Poem by AlbatrossIt has never been about the mountainI salute my situation and follow your trail A degree west, you say To the mountain, you say Dearest scoutmaster, you have my faith I’ll suck the venom from your body Or at least talk you through it yourself There’s no poison, you say It’s a beautiful mountain, you say Sir, I don’t see where we are going Fog smears the color of your fabled rock Scoutmaster, have you considered I am cold? Just be warm, you say This mountain is nothing but warmth, you say Scoutmaster, I’m afraid you are lying I feel poison and I see a plain Have we even moved uphill? My reflection in our elevation is not reassuring But Mister, I will trust you still Just take your hand, you say There’s a badge at the top of the mountain, you say Scoutmaster, we just left an island and I am low on fuel Sir, you said it is okay so why are you angry? You’re lying to me and you put your heat on ice I’m sorry but I’m going to turn from you if that’s okay There’s something on your mind, you say The mountain is not okay There is no mountain, you say Blinking through water, I’m confused You’ve ruined my island Scoutmaster, the leaves changed and it’s no longer good I’m afraid I’m angry too Falling from you was easy now I regretted you Why do I turn out from you, you say We can build a new mountain together, when it snows and when I return, you say My loyalty descends from me You are trustworthy, scoutmaster My trust just doesn’t like you Not right now You’re sorry, you say It can be okay, you say
