Part 1

Growing up, I was the only person Andersen trusted the most! I loved him but everybody remarked “You too complement each other well, are you sure you’re not related?” " I had weirdly been friend zoned without his contribution. I lost all my relationships because of it " the emotions I never got to explore. Eventually, he was married- Bummer! They had met at the local bank where Samantha worked as a loan officer and Andersen had gone for a loan to open a restaurant.

Sam was a charming lady " it still pains acknowledging her good qualities, what could I have done! He was in love with her but she was also the worst thing that could happen to him. Andersen had not graduated from high school, his father died from cancer when he was just a little boy. His mother had done everything humanly possible to keep him alive including spending their savings and Andersen’s college fund. At this point she had resigned to nursing her husband from a well-paying job overseas that involved a lot of travelling. She'd sought for employment at Mercy’s grocery store and this was a supplementary income. Soon, bills were in arrears " she had to find a second job nursing at the retirement home. With all that much effort, Micheal still capitulated leaving Sonia with that much grief and muddle! Andersen’s problems had been inherited! His choice of wife didn’t make his life any easier.

After a few years of marital bliss and two children down the marital journey, Samantha who had gradually nagged the life out of Andersen’s brittle ego, had picked on some pesky habits. From returning home late, to forgetting their daughter’s birthday because she was out all night partying. Andersen grumbled at every chance in hopes of reviving the little paradise - it’s only human to react but it just worsened the already desecrated family. Dr. Dora Alman had counselled this marriage for years but her efforts had been ineffective! - Andersen stopped attending her sessions, they yielded no results yet bankrupted him " eventually Samantha proposed a separation.

As much as he felt compelled to fight her decision on this, there was no point in grappling on the illusion, his business was fast dwindling " his focus was necessary somewhere else!

Two months of separation, Samantha had already started seeing Richard the constable at the sheriff’s department. No - this woman was callous!

It is terrible when love turn cold and meaningless. I liked how you wrote a lesson in the words. All things done come back to us. Thank you Nankya for sharing the powerful story.
