better.

better.

A Poem by ~amanda~

If I knew you better,
I would have known,
You have a penchant for running,
You would jog along the LA River,
Listening to artistic songs,
Wishing you wrote them yourself.

If I knew you better,
I would have kissed you the night we met,
Instead of waiting all those months,
And then have you tell me,
We were better off friends.

If I knew you better,
I would know your fingers aren’t as soft,
As they look.
And I wouldn’t have yearned so much,
For those fingers to touch me,
Because when they did it wasn’t at all,
Like I had hoped it would be.

But I don’t know you.
Even though you painted pictures of me,
And sent me flowers on Valentines Day,
And opened the car door every time I came in or out.

I don’t know you,
Even though we shared iced coffee,
At trendy bistros in Hollywood,
And I gave you the love poems I wrote for you,
Which you still have under your mattress,
Where you keep everything any girl ever gave you.
Including the shirt I bought you,
And my heart.

You don’t know me,
And I don't know you.

Maybe it was better like this.

It seems the reviews that you have gotten on this say it all. Very passionate. And, as the end say, maybe it is better. I hope this guy feels something whenever he wears, or sees that shirt under the mattress.

Ouch... funny how you can be with someone for a while before their true colors show, of coarse then you look back with 20/20 vision and see the signs... you certainly vented out your feeling and told that guy off, i hope he got to read this two so he can see just how he really is.

This poem was so sad and a little reflective perhaps even introperspective, i think it is hard to trust anyone in this life as ones true colours can easily been found when one has a personal agenda and love isn't on the menu more like what can you do for me ? or what can i get out of this relationship?

Never trust another with your heart it is the most precious thing you have be friends with someone before you committ to true love that is my advice from a guy who has had his heart broken a few times and tries his best to be honest with everyone.

You have a real panache about your writing you have so much style and grace
isn't any wonder that your smile is so pretty on your sweet face
i'm wondering who this guy could have been
and why he left you feeling hurt with his cold heart so mean
Fear not pretty one there is life after romance
now here comes your favourite song so shall we dance?
