At Morning Twilight.

At Morning Twilight.

A Poem by Dominick
"

I've been thinking about this poem a lot. I was laying in bed, and my thoughts kept coming to it. I decided to write. The character is lonely and insecure. Each morning he awakes just between night

"

Waking right before four,

Dressing with practice.

Not once he forgets

To lock the door.

Looks back,

And he checks it twice.

At morning twilight,

The sun just tries to break the dark.

Shadows scattered like static,

The air exhales

Aloneness.

Unmarked snow,

Unbeaten path,

He walks.

Time begat place,

inextricablly.

Anticipation -

(Far away -

That way! -

Just there,

Where he can't reach,

Now. Or here. )

Expectation -

(This way -

Like this! -

Just watch,)

At morning twilight,

Excellence obsesses him,

He'll construe this place,

How he'll be

when he meets her.

At morning twilight,

Fear won't take him.

The day takes the shadows and the air,

He exhales

Aloneness.

.
. ohhhh ... this is just too beautifully poignant and poignantly beautiful ... my heart goes out to this guy ... and in so doing ... it actually goes out to me ... modern-day social and other premises ... give birth to this stark and potent solitude that is almost imposed ... but not quite ... one thinks one can do something about it ... one tries ... but one tires because one can't ... a brilliant piece of poetry ... i look forward to reading more of your words ...
