Good morning,
It has been awhile since I have read any of your work... I came across your writing this morning and ! am so glad I did.
The words express possibilities..how in every minute things can change..
I really enjoyed the read.

Hope you enjoy your time in Spain

How wisely and beautifully you have stated the truths of life ..i too, write quite in a simple language .'.there is a word that should remain unsaid.'Well - written , sir.

Your muse has certainly wandered Alan. So different from you, so insightful and beautifully penned. A profound piece of writing I will remember for a long time. Well done my friend. My favourite of all your writes.
..... you have just penned a most beautiful bit o literature in the form of a poem .. tis a series of universal truths to be sure.. I may just have to keep a copy as a reminder, if you dont mind..
I guess the Title gives this away, at least for me. Moments are short; so many kinds of moments..words, action, love, touch, breathe, dream, tomorrow...like you are listing these moments, leaving the reader to thoughtfully expand upon them...this is an amazing way to show these small but important chapters in life.
Excellent! Always, Betty
Very, very nice. And very insightful. I especially like the first stanza because it really is a summary of everything that follows. What follows are the reasons for the next few stanzas and why one path opens and another closes. And after that you portray the human consequences and truths.

There is so much wisdom in those lines that will last even after the last breath is taken! Each stanza is to be savored again and again. I love it!

dear Alan... Life is not measured by the breaths we take...
but by the moments that take our breath away (author unknown).
Love all your poem pens... especially,
"there is a touch that can bring healing". gently, Pat

This might be the most nuanced writing I've seen from you . . . usually you are straightforward & literal, as I usually am, too. I love how this piece goes along planting possibilities, hinting at things, but not really explaining or expanding on anything. I see a trajectory to the points you're posing, as if going from "micro" (a moment in time) to "macro" (lifelong aspects). All in all, the title defines the message as being that things can turn on a dime in the most unexpected ways (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I hope you are able to keep safe. I think Trump's days are numbered.
