that lovely afterward

that lovely afterward

A Poem by alan peter kelly

we rest among the tendrils
between intermix

and cooling colour
of what has just occurred

oasis after lusty thirst
satiated beyond words

where captured moment lingers
in that lovely afterward

and lipstick smear
a fingerprint

that tells us
we were here

here there be magik~ we carry the imprints long after the smears have vanished~ we are a composite of pressure points in memory's clay~
