resplendence

resplendence

A Poem by alan peter kelly
"

muse series

"

elusive mind

eyes beyond description

lead me to places

i have known

only in imagination

                         external objects

melt into insignificance

and what remains

bends willingly

for something so plush

of colour and rich

in tincture

my thoughts

can do nothing

but acquiesce

to its resplendence

my universe

circles an orbit

around a body

so vast

in the unknowable

bathes

beneath the glimmer

of your stars

and if you were to crush

my existence

for reason too large

for me to understand

your will

would be my pleasure

i would expire

contented

to your plan

you capture the deepest nuances of utter surrender ~ there is such a fine line between enslaving oneself to muse and pure immersion in warm other scape waters in its creative libations and here within the body of your pearl string of words is the gem of soft capitulation presented in such a curiously subtle bend the lines between narrator and muse begin to narrow until one begins to reflect the other~

Wonderful piece altogether- I especially love the undertones in your beautiful word choices. Your love of language is apparent in this- great write altogether. :)

Well..a muse can not get better than Aishwariya Rai..the beautiful Indian actress..the picture caught my attention and what a fitting tribute..
in particular i liked these lines..
and if you were to crush

for reason too large

for me to understand

your will

would be my pleasure

i would expire

. ah, alan ... beautiful expressions all the way ... i get very intrigued by the concept of the "muse" ... i'm not sure i have one ... and if i do ... it's mister muse ... and yet i can get the aroma of this beautiful submission of yours to the poetry and the beauty of artistic expression ... (am amazed to see aishwarya rai's picture) ... "your will would be my pleasure" ... timeless phrase there ... very inspiring ...
