my leather bag of blood and bone

my leather bag of blood and bone

A Poem by alan peter kelly
"

how does one describe that bubbling on the inside.... exposed introspection.

"
I stand out
side
cliques
and inner
circles

weathered
is my leather
bag of blood
and bone

scarified flesh

all I am
freely exposed

transparecy
is the liberation
in nakedness

from heresay

naked I
am

not concerned
with what
what's his name
told so

and so
and on

and on
I could
describe

the particular
thrum and pitty
pat pitty pat
of my drum

but best be left
to inner monologues

that suits me to
the marrow

I hate
as much
as love
sometimes

and in this too
I tell myself
when i'm alone

i'm not

alone

I liked this work very much alan peter Kelly. You've touched on those inward moments when we tune out from the outside to feel the pulse within. For me, those spaces can be disconcerting and at times comforting. Your work here brought me to a place of both thought in mind and awareness of physical being.

that's what we do when we put it down like this; we say this much i will show you of me, standing behind these hot coal words, this much, in this accent, in these colors, these statements rich in echoes of me, of my blood and bone...here i am, not alone
