Into the Woods

Into the Woods

A Poem by avaya

Into the woods, I awake as the starry night fills my space

A hole so deep, I fall in quick but I feel it is too late

My hands grip tightly to the grass that sleeks far as it sleeks back

I hear the night call my name, but my heart still feels his lack

I cry songs like the birds on the branches that reach out

Into the woods, I see the trees feel the pain of his own doubt

I lay there still, and in confusion, as my heart tears into glass

The crystals crumble into dirt and yet, I fear this is my last

I yearn for peace and the sound of flies, fluttering high above his death

To disembark on this journey, into the woods and far from wretch
