Hello

Hello

A Poem by Samer Al-Abed

Since the first time that I saw your smile,

Your lips, eyes, hair, figure and style,

It made all these years worthwhile,

As I have traveled to the last mile,

From ice to sand, Everest to the Nile,

In search of that one that will compile,

My thoughts and dreams, without trial,

As I walk over to say "Hello",

Nerves racing my blood flow,

Attracted by your beautiful glow,

With every step, emotions grow,

I introduce myself, thinking here we go,

We start chatting, and you just know,

That I'm not just another average Joe,

The clock spins at a pretty quick rate,

Smiles, laughs, things are going great,

Too good to be true, but this is fate,

I finally found her, my real soulmate,

Look into her eyes, ask her straight,

May I take you on a date?

And you joyfully said: pick me up at eight,

Take you out for a night on the town,

Spare no expense, green and brown,

Buy you the world and get you a crown,

Not to mention that exquisite gown,

Show you off left, right, up and down,

Make every guy jealous and frown,

For a queen needs a king, not a clown.

Clearly I see some fear in your eyes,

Afraid it's all deception and lies,

But I promise you nothing but clear skies,

No more pain, no more cries,

From now on everyday is a surprise,

A new adventure in disguise,

As I make your heart reach all new highs...
