The FallA Poem by Samer Al-Abed
Wet, fragile, scared and alone
He stands on the edge looking down Being held back against his will All he wants is to jump With less and less control He grows in strength and breaks free Looks down at the ground and leaps Not thinking that this is the end for him As he slides, memories go with Joy escapes and runs away Sadness fills the air Rage takes over violently By the time he hits the floor A million thoughts rush his mind Soon he splashes between my feet And I wipe the rest of them off my face.
