What a great commentary on our times. I read it as someone who partially understands what influences them, but isn't willing to go much beyond the surface to find out the depth of history and culture and absorb those things in meaningful ways. I suppose this could apply to many things in our current moment. What seems to define the modern human is the ability to say and share things that grab attention, but sometimes true understanding is overlooked. I really enjoy the way your poems offer a sense of sophistication to a rhyming format. You have interesting messages in your poetry. Great to meet you, Akshay.

Though I realized we're suffering from an attention economy much after I wrote this poem. Today, with information explosion, there's an attention deficit and every media channel makes their information exaggerated, piquant even if on amoral and false grounds, just to grab attention. True knowledge requires inquiry and introspection but are we left with the time to do that? And where do we start?
Thanks for pointing out this great point. Nice to meet you too :D

Culture, personified. And so many beg, borrow and steal from others.
This is unique. I like it. The flow is kinda lyrical too.

I feel this is wonderful Metaphor.
Taking bits of history, of life...the scraps others may leave alone...
we jump at the chance to get them within our writing beak...and poeticize...

I guess that's how our culture is formed, out of happenings that just lay on the sands of time, for some vultures to come and scrap out what's useful.
Thanks for reading. And I agree history helps giving us ideas to write :)
I have a vision. I can finally commit to writing for the love of it. Been writing and making mistakes. Trying to let my past self get inspired to write and serve.
